[Modem] quick modem qustion and stats

Ok just what i hope is a quick question.

I installed a 4100 to replace my old 4 light 5100.

Before I put it in front of the router I got some stats off of it .
Line State UP
Modulation ANSI
Data Path fast

To Modem To Internet
Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 6016 768
SN Margin (dB) 10.5 -
Line Attenuation (dB) 36.5 -
Loss of Signal 0 -
Loss of Frame 0 0
CRC Errors 1 2

are these good or bad stats?

Those are pretty good. If they stay that good, you will not have problems.

Is the new modem a 4100 or a 4100b?

That's ok. The 4100b squeezes a little more attenuation and noise margin improvement out of the loop, but no more speed unless the line is having problems.

The 4100 has a nifty diagnostic that seems to be undone by the 4100b: »SBC DSL FAQ »What do the hybrid numbers mean and what do they tell you about your line?
