| reply to mbkowns said by mbkowns :Good Luck with that HAHA Uverse blows... Did I say I was switching to U-Verse? I merely mentioned that U-Verse appears to be available in the 626 area code...that's competition and for the US markets, competition usually drives better service and options. Especially if the competition appears to be on par with what's being offered.
And I'm glad to know that apparently U-Verse blows in all areas. Thanks for letting me know. It's not like Charter's been perfect, what with the regularly laggy internet (it'll be severely laggy again in a month or two) and the overcompressed HD channels. |

| reply to BlakePaulson said by BlakePaulson :So does charter make you use one of their modems for 16/2 or can I still use my Motorola SB5100 (I looked up the info on it... supposedly it can do 38mbps down and 30mbps up) Yeah SB5100 will work fine. It's what i'm using. That's a speedtest I got just now. I really with they would have called it a 15/2 tier, as I rarely get above 15.5. But It has more to do with the modem provisioning and network capacity than it does the modem itself. |

It shall be nice to see my online backup be double the speed, I can finally have it backup some larger documents w/o fear of taking days. I wonder if it made it's way along 94 and came to St. Cloud / Alexandria / Fergus Falls |

| reply to TuPaK You would think that they would be more interested in bumping up the speed in the 626; we've usually gotten speed bumps fairly early in the past and AT&T U-Verse is available in the area (with a 10.5/1.5 Internet package), at least according to the flyers and AT&Ts website. |

| reply to mbkowns well just yesterday I noticed the Charter website said "speeds up to 16 Mbps" when it used to say 10. When you put in my address though it does not yet show an option for ordering 16 meg. Of course we had 10 Mbps service available in my area for over a year before it ever showed up as an ordering option on the website. So I suspect it's already here or will be soon. |

Going to give it a try and see if it's worth the extra $25 vs only extra $5 for 10meg. |
