| reply to jmorlan Thanks for the Poll jmorlan !
Have used several different Newsreaders in the past, but I'm a "none" kind of guy now, so that's how I voted. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

Thanks for the poll, jmorlan !
In Linux I use klibido for binaries and knode for text-based groups (I didn't see an 'other' choice but knode would be it). In Windows I use Grabit. --

I use Grabit and Outlook. I belong to a lot of the Sci-fi/Star Trek/Babylon 5 Google Groups.

| reply to jmorlan I am now, and always have been, a fan of Forte Agent! The latest incarnation is elegant and achieves perfection for me. I even use Forte's own Usenet service (Agent Premium News) as my provider. I can't say enough good things about the team. |

| reply to jmorlan I would have voted "other" if there were such a category.
I mainly use nn, which is a text mode reader on unix. I occasionally use knode, when I want a gui. I have tried 'tin', 'slrn', 'Thunderbird'. None of them does the job as well as nn (in my opinion). -- AT&T dsl; Westell 2200 modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.8 |

| reply to jmorlan Another great poll here on dslreports.com !
Been using Forte Agent when it was v1.92 (still have the floppy somewhere), and upgraded through the years.
I've tried (and LIKED!!) NewsLeecher but it is such a resource hog on my system. Plus having to install .NET Framework. |

| reply to jmorlan You should really split Pan into two categories. The new betas (which are extremely stable) are much different (written in C) than the older(stable) version (not written in C). Some people still prefer the older version, although I personally do not understand why.
For text based I use the New Pan, but for NZBs(binaries) Klibido (on my system) is about 20% faster. |
