What a mistake! Maine will have no choice but cable for high speed internet. Verizon had plans to install fiber in Maine and now they will never with useless Fairpoint. How much you wanna bet that all the executives retire after they get their merger bonuses. Just another example of corporate greed ruining people's lives.
Some parts of Maine and New Hampshire have FIOS. It's interesting to see how Fairpoint will handle those customers, especially on the TV side.
