there lack support when needed

I purchased a handful of meraki products and I can speak first hand...the product doesnt live up to the standards they claim. They pretty much have control of the units once you get them up. Try to get support and mark my words GOOD LUCK.

Ya you have some control but they have majority of the control. If they go belly up...your units become worthless radios... Personally I stopped using the product and ebay the stuff. Been 5 months and still havent gotten 1 response to the 5 emails I have sent. Visit there Mt.View office and it looks like a fly by night outfit.

This is yet another start up trying to make money off stupid VC who have no idea of how things really work.

These things are just toys in comparison to the things us REAL WISPS do and have done for cities, cutomers and many others for many years.

People seem to think they can come in with a $199 solution and have it work flawlessly. There is a reason that you spend thousands per nodes such as tropos, firetide etc to build a true mesh system. There is research and development costs involved with making things WORK correctly and they put a guarentee behind it. Like the previous post above over 2 weeks without a single response for support!

I can call any one of my vendors and get a live person most any day of the week and someties even after hours.

Those that put their bets on this company are as stupid as the VC's funding them the money. Give our company the money and we will show you what can really be done with REAL equipment.

It seems that these start-ups find some good bullshitter to convince VC's to throw money thier way based on a pipe dream when the VC's have no clue about wireless and how it REALLY works!

If you reflash the Meraki's to DD-WRT v24 RC6.2, you WILL find it to more useful than the default firmware
