[Vista] I want to disable the Task SchedulerI know that disabling the Task Scheduler will free up some system memory and make your computer run that bit faster. I want it to be disabled so my computer will run faster. Is it ok to disable the Task Scheduler or just leave it running? Can Vista get by without the Task Scheduler? |

I don't know if some third party programs rely on the Task Scheduler service for automatic updates.
I would say try it to see. |

You thereby disable System Restore, the Volume Shadow Copy service, automatic Updates, the Idle Optimization process, and the defragmentation service. |

Disabling the task scheduler to do that would be counter productive. |

As noted, disabling the service will no doubt create more problems for you in the long run than any performance gain you think you would get. It's a bad idea in my opinion. |
