As far as the internet goes 7 and -7 are the same.
Whatever it's worth, I would rather be at +7dB than -7.

The stronger signal strength leaves more wiggle room for potential future attenuation issues.

Depends on where you are what all is being used near you in the way or other peoples wireless connections and certain cordless phones 2.8Ghz IIRC.
I thought that 2.4 Ghz devices were the one's that could cause interference ?
