I have a laptop (vista) and my ps3 connected to my Netgear wireless router. The ps3 and laptop share files no problem.
My problem is I want my laptop to be able to print from my desktop printer. My desktop is XP.
What step am i missing?

Is the desktop computer already used to share files? If not, you'll want to run the Network Setup Wizard on the desktop computer, and select
This computer connects to the Internet through another computer on my network or through a residential gateway.
That's the equivalent of saying that your Vista computer is connected to a "Private" network, plus the wizard itself loads the proper services to allow file and printer sharing.

Then make sure that you have the up to date drivers for the XP desktop, and for the Vista laptop. And follow instructions provided by the printer vendor.

If you have problems getting the printer to work under Vista, try an alternative process of setting the Vista client up.
