powerline

@cox.net

can I use different brands of powerline adapters together?

I need to stream some media players (slingbox, Hava, squeeze box, etc) from various rooms in my house.

I don't like wireless bridges (flaky, bad speeds), and fishing new ethernet cable is difficult.

So I'm looking at powerline adapters.

I already have a couple of Netgear XE102 units, which go up to 14mbps (realistically 1-2 mbps). I'm looking at adding some Airlink or Linksys powerline adapters with speeds up to 200mbps.

I'm wondering if they'll all play nicely with each other.

Anyone know?

No the two different versions are not compatible from what I have read. Suggest you go with all newer HPAV powerline stuff.
