1 edit | U.S internet? When 360 and ps3 iptv do hit the U.S and they offer streaming channels whats that going to do for those people who are on monthly caps? Not to mention Comcast and their *secret* caps.
Hell will 6/384 even be enough for streaming video? I know it ain't for HD streams.
I'm not sure what their internet speed offerings are in British, but i have a feeling Microsoft choose them because of this reason with the American internet companys.
**Anyone know if theres a live stream somewhere of CES 2008?

Jamestown, NC | Re: U.S internet? This content will be streamed by the DSL or Cable provider from their headend equipment or central office and will not be counted against the bit caps. It'll come from their equipment just like video on demand does now. | |

Interestingly, in 1985, the NES also cost $200, and years later, the N64 was released for $200. All those came with a single controller and a single game, just like the base system does today.

Carrollton, TX | You misunderstand the model. BT already sell IPTV-over-VDSL in a similar way to AT&T do with U-Verse. This deal allows Xbox 360 owners to use the Xbox as the STB rather than needing a separate STB. | |

Here | You have to have an IPTV infrastructure in place.
In the US this means AT&T or a local independant who runs MS Mediaroom.
The bits are streamed outside of the "internet" part of the connection. It's IP...TV and not I...PTV. | |

The same way the current set top boxes get their video...through the ethernet port to the network...Or you could use an HPNA3 to ethernet bridge and run your 360 off of the phone line or coax line, either way will still work. Network does not always mean internet. You can have a network connection without it going to the internet. It really isn't that difficult to understand, the 360 will be just like an IPTV set top box.
AT&T's U-verse video never once touches the internet. It is all kept on their private network. The only thing on U-verse that touches the internet is the actual internet. U-verse video uses the Internet Protocol, but is never actually put on the internet. Think of it as more of an intranet.
