Why Not Run a Shop Vac in Your Living Room?

I'm on my 3rd iteration. Looking to buy a 4th as soon as I can be certain to get a cooler running "Zephyr" version with the new scaler chip. My latest Xbox 360 has been running without the third party fan cooler that is terribly loud, but now the DVD drive seriously distracts me from the immersion factor. I find myself using my computer and PS3 more and more. Mass Effect was the last game I played on the Xbox 360. Haven't fired it up in the last two weeks except to check out the latest downloadable content each Wednesday.

Even with headphones on, I can still hear my Xbox 360's fans and DVD drive churning and spurning. Not sure how much longer it will last, but it is still under warranty if it red lights on me. This is not something I would be content to have to put up with for daily television viewing.

I agree, and compared to a standard STB, what would the power consumption be like. I think my DTV STB is between 11W and 17W.
