@fuse.net | 10 meg here but + $10 no thanx
Zoomtown contacted me last week offerning me the new ZoomtownMax service which I guess is what they call the 10meg increase, but charge an additional $10. I told them good luck with it, but no thanks. |

What part of town are you from? |

| reply to wggp It may not help, but when I inquired at the store about it, they told me that if you use Cincinnati Bell for wireless, the $10 fee is waived. Everyone else gets the first month free.
I'm in Mt. Washington and qualify. I don't know if it is based on the part of town, or simply having to be close enough to an office. |

@fuse.net | reply to xur17 Anderson Township and I do already have the wireless and they did not offer to wave the $10 fee, but that may have been a screw up on thier part. I will have to inquire about it. |

| reply to wggp One thing to be aware of is that if you have an older modem (I have a Westell), you will need a new one. I was told it would be delivered by Wednesday (ordered on Friday.) That was fine. The problem is that the upgrade on the account was done on Tuesday. The older modem cannot handle the connection at all, not just the speed increase. So I had to be without an Internet connection Tuesday. Zoomtown Max is actually DSL2. The new modem also doesn't sound all that new. It has four ports and builtin wireless, but it is only 802.11b and according to Tech Support only supports WEP, not WPA. |

| reply to wggp the 10mb connection has a slower upload speed than regular dsl right now. When/if this is foxed, don't expect to see over 768 up. Also, fine print. zoomtownmax is from 5mbps to 10. so if you are far away, you will be wasting your 10 extra dollars. |
