It's a friggin mess. IDOT is asleep (no plows, no salt) and La Grange Rd. has not had anything done to it. The slip'n'slide demolition derby has started... -- Toolmaster of La Grange. |

Same thing on every other expressway... the Kennedy is 2-1/2 hours out to O'Hare, the Ike is 3 hours out to Thorndale, and the Stevenson is 2-1/2 hours out to 355. -- If everything seems to be going well, you've obviously overlooked something. |

| Well, I have noticed that I-57 and the Ryan, which are IDOT's responsibility to plow and salt tend to be worse than the city streets.
Streets and San ain't great, but ever since Bilandic they know that keeping the arterial streets clear is a huge political deal, so they do so.
Our illustrious gov and his cronies don't give a damn.
That said, if the Kennedy is 2.5 hours out to O'Hare, that's only about an hour more than usual at this time of day -- Illegitimati non carborundum

They got it right down there, but they only predicted a couple of inches by the time you reached the state line up north. So, I put my six year old daughter to work yesterday afternoon.

In fact it looks so nice maybe a winter one too... We'll even save money on the ice, wouldn't need any... ... That would be wonderful - I've wanted to meet the people in our local forum for a long time! However, between Memorial and Labor Days, I'm only home on Fridays and Saturdays, and those two days I am working very hard restocking the truck and our little store. Anytime before Memorial day or after Labor Day would be no problem though, and we'd love to host a party for this forum. Let's plan one for late Spring - I'll need a good time prior to my three months of non-stop work.
One of my favorite aspects of living precisely where we do, is if I feel like cranking up some Alice Cooper at 4:30 in the morning while stocking the truck out here, I don't disturb anything but the wildlife. We can make a lot of noise! Wireless and plenty of room for passing out too! -- Keep Right Except To Pass |

| Oh jeez - that's where you work. Man. that must have been pretty traumatic for you guys.
That one was just awful - he was a rising star in the diocese and it turned out he was really, really messing around in the worst way, if I remember correctly.
Folks were pissed off with the plea deal if I remember, and lots of people - including my wife's uncle who is a priest - are very pissed off at George for soft-peddling the entire thing.
He sounded like of of these guys who is totally compulsive - he just couldn't not do it. -- Illegitimati non carborundum

And he was one of the young and up and coming priests in the Archdioceses ... He got nothing, 5 years (he'll be out in 3), ppl get busted with pot get more time... It was all BS... My principal deserved to get fired, a parent came up to her at the start of the school year about him and she did NOTHING... Sick because the Archdioceses new about him since Seminary ... He was caught with other young men in the '90s... And there is more, read the article...

| My uncle-in-law (if such a thing exists), the priest says that there are many parishes that are well known in the diocese as "gay" (which to me is irrelevant - it's none of my business what adults do with each other, oath or no oath) and others that at least used to harbor pedophiles.
From what I read, McCormick was pretty blatant about it - arrogant and thinking he was untouchable.
The scandal was just as huge in Ireland when we lived there. Still ongoing.
The sad ting is that the church was perceived as a place where pedophiles could practice their sickness.
Of course if you have ever read any popular medieval poetry or literature, Chaucer for example, it was the priests that everyone warned their daughters about. -- Illegitimati non carborundum

Show him what a six year old girl and her 48.8 year old father will conquer in about two hours time! Start at the mailbox. I just can't bring myself to buying a snow blower. I really love the exercise. I also enjoy the silence that a fresh blanket of snow brings.
