| [Satellite] VCR issue
I have basic Directv receiver. Have hooked up a Sony VCR model SLV-N750. The vcr is not picking up the satellite channels. I've tried autotune with no luck. I've always had the vcr input at channel 3. Should it be L1 or L2 because ithe signal is coming through the satellite receiver? Thanks for any help |

| reply to njchatter If nothing is connected to the Composite output, connect the VCR, and tune to the Input that the cables are hooked up to. Otherwise, from the output of the box for the TVset, connect a piece of RG-6 to the input, then from the Antenna out, connect to the TVSet. BTW, there are directions available for hook-up at various sites, and you cannot auto-tune anything on the VCR, other then what the input or channel that you need it on to receive from the box. |

| I read numerous websites with directions including Directv and Sony. However none of them addressed this issue. I do have it hooked up correctly. I'll try manually entering the station I want to tape and see what happens. As far as the VCR - a Sony - do I set the input at channel 3 or L1? The satellite is coming from the receiver to the vcr and from the vcr to the tv. Using composite cables between them also. |

| If the VCR is connected by Coaxial to the DBS Settop unit, you turn the VCR to channel 3. If by the A/V (Red, White, Yellow, or S-video), turn to L1 or L2, dependant on that input.
As for guides, »www.directv.com/DTVAPP/customer/···=1100085 just choose the type of receiver and go from there. If you do not have the handbook for the VCR, Sony.com has it at »esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-···50&LOC=3 |
