Re: AT&T Old school business, and not reacting to competition:
1. Charging expensive rates for POTS ($40/month + ~$16/month in fees). Call Vantage (not being promoted) is $25/month. Uverse VoIP has been trialled at $40/month... WTF are they thinking!
2. Non compeitive bundling. DSL is decently priced, however has restrictions (until recently, required POTS). VDSL internet requires TV subscription. Cable will sell you any of their services standalone.
3. Eavesdropping / content filtering (blue room and now Hollywood agreements). All bad news. -- Canada = Hollywood North |
 | My "service" rate is under $11 a month. My "Fees, taxes, and surcharges" add $23, for a $34 bill. On an $11 service plan. Nothing like a 200% b*llsh*t tax to remind me why I use VoIP for my primary line. -- Intel Quad Core QX6700 @3500Mhz/Asus P5N32-E SLI/4x 1024Mb Corsair/Seagate 750.10/PNY 7800GTs SLI/Silverstone 850W/Custom water cooler |
