Upload speed test at Testmy.net has, for the past 26 days, resulted in:

Web Acceleration Client Error (504) - Suspected Satellite Link Outage

The satellite link was not operational when the last web page request was made. Possible causes for this include recent changes in weather conditions or equipment problems in the Network Operations Centre. Trying again at a later time may result in restored service due to either improvements in the weather conditions causing the service outage or rectification of a network problem in the Network Operations Centre. If this problem persists, please contact your service provider for additional assistance.

Cannot upload content to websites. All FTP uploads over 4KB fail.

Cannot send emails of over approx. 4KB.

Slow browsing speeds - due to instability of browser IPC requests to the webservers. The "uploading" of the requests fail frequently, requiring multiple retrys. I will say that the many "504" and "506" error messages are consistently being displayed quickly, though!

Spoke with TS again on 1/3/08:

They acknowledge the issue is being worked on at the NOC. Many customers are affected.

I recommended considering running customers through an alternate NOC. Was informed that they would have done this already if it were possible. I mentioned that I've seen my connection going through both the Las Vegas and the Maryland NOCs over the past year.

I recommended they send techs out to repoint biz customers to alternate satellites, converting to Home Pro Plus service plans while these issues are being worked. He made note of the suggestion.

He agreed that there is no sense in me performing additional troubleshooting, as the problems are definitely at the NOC.
