So where is 7mbit available?

So who's called, who's switched, and where are you located when they said it was available to you?

edit:
January 9th, @12:43PM

Currently on hold, going to try my luck. I reside in Queens, NY. Ill edit with an update soon.

edit: 35 mins on hold and its lunch time - will try again later.

edit2: Spoke to 4 reps. 2 of them said I need to wait til tomorrow to place an order since they got an email stating not to place orders til tmr. 1 rep said i didnt qualify. the last rep just "Thank you for patiently waiting ".

One of the reps did give me some useful information. I am 4720 ft away from the CO, also this is a change they will do on their side and told me I would not require a tech visit. Said its like if she would change me to the 768kbs tier and then back to 3mbits. Though I take that information with a grain of salt.

Edit:

Just got off the phone and the guy said no.

He didn't seem to know about it though. I will try later.

Edit 2: Called back and spoke to a very nice lady who upgraded my account. The speed increase will happen within 24 hours, no tech required.
Zip Code 15003.

I will update with a speed test when it happens.

Have either of you tried putting in a number local to you to see if it shows as available on the site?

That is what they said. I asked that specific question because I read your post.

She said I will see the speed in 24 Hours.

We will see.

I checked my number and the 768 and 3.0 plan are offered.
No 7MB.

Probably is not on their site yet?

There shouldn't be any need for a different modem or filters, I had 7/768 3 years ago with radip systems ( reseller for Verizon in the Tampabay Florida area )

It was a great service but compared to today's speed, pricey ( 150 month )

Anyhow, it's only limited by the loop Lenght, nothing else

Yeah, but according to the article it should be. Just wanted to confirm if the article was correct or not before trying to call.

Neu, try a the number of a neighbor without DSL if you can.

It's been mostly standard practice for them to install the filter for this speed on their business plan. Other than tying the modem to a single jack, it causes no harm and can only help.

Lets Go

I tried calling to find out about an upgrade. Sales said it was available for my number but billing said it was not available. I guess I will give it a couple of days and try again.

Hopefully they are right. If I do not see the speed increase by tomorrow I will give them a call.

BTW I searched for a few other local numbers and the only results were for Business Lines, not sure why.

7.1 has been available to Business for a while. Seems the site just hasn't been updated.

It is really easy to figure out if your phone qualifyes to 7Mbit speed.
Go to »www.acedsl.com/home.html and enter your home phone #, select business and see the choice. Mine came like this:

Service Options Available:
• AceDSL Live Plus(1600/128) - $59.95 (all taxes included)
• AceDSL SOHO(1600/384) - $79.95 (all taxes included)
• AceDSL 3000(3000/768) - $89.95 (all taxes included)
• AceDSL S768(768/768) - $159.95 (all taxes included)
• AceDSL Network(7100/768) - $199.95 (all taxes included)
(Loop length: 1718 feet)

I can get it
