 | [TWC] Flaky connection San Diego 92128 The internet connection has been flaky all day. I am located in zipcode 92128 and the modem has been loosing and gaining connection all day long, the network is up for a min or two and then down. Also noticed my ip adress is now 24.xx instead of 76.xx it used to be. Anyone else experiencing problems? |

 | reply to SD92128 yes, i live in carmel mountain in 92128. my ip is in the 24.xx.xxx.xx and its been like this ever since 12pm. i think they're doing maintenance or upgrading our speeds. hmmm. because in 92128 part of san diego the standard speed is still 7/512 as to a lot of my other friends live in a variety of areas around SD and they all have their standard speed bumped to 10/1. |
 | reply to SD92128 i'm in 92886, everything has been fine all day |
 | reply to o0osk11 Thats interesting, i pay for RR Premium/Turbo whatever they call it and I get 10/1...if thats the speed everyone else on the lower tier is getting then what the heck am I paying extra $ for. |
 | I live in the 92128 area code and my service and speeds has been rock solid. Hasn't been affected by packet shaping, outages or slow downs at all. SO FAR!! |
 | dude, whats your IP address showing up as and what is the speed test showing? I called RR yesterday and they admitted there was a server issue which is causing the problems...cable modem loses sync every so often. |

Just did a speed test and these are the results. My IP address 66.XX |
 | I'll try rebooting my modem to see if it helps, im pulling a 24.xx IP at the moment. Where exactly are you located? I am near the 56 (ted williams) and 15 merge |
 | Bernardo Center and the 15 area. |
 | reply to SD92128 What are your modems? SB4200 here. Should I request a modem change?
 | I had the same modem for about 4 years (Toshiba pcx2500) No problems with the Internet or newsgroups. |

 | Well my connection seems better today but im still pulling a 24.x IP address and my upload is now 512K instead of 1Mbps it used to be :-( |
 | reply to SD92128 its a bunch of bullshit!
i was on the phone with a connection specialist yesterday and he told me they did an upgrade on Wednesday and it was supposed to end in the morning but it didn't. By far, the RR techie told me he wanted to try upgrading me to the premium package (15/2) and I did a speed test and it was still at 7/512. and road runner standard speed is supposed to be 10/1. whatever. he told me he's going to give the engineers that work in that area a call and try to see whats up with some people in 92128. btw i live in carmel mountain |
 | reply to SD92128 wow. not cool. for some apparent reason i lost connection so i rebooted my cable modem and now im back at 5/384 (old standard speeds) when standard is supposed to be 10/1. |
 | reply to o0osk11 o0osk11 yeah the troubles started wed, when i called customer service he told me there was a "server issue" and it wouldn't be fixed till late at night. Well it's sat now and im hitting my 10Mbps download but my upload is at 512 instead of 1M! The connection just seems flaky as well, pages arnt loading as fast as they used to and previously downloads wouldn't reach 10M down and the transfer graph would show a steady horizontal line, now its all over the place.
Im in carmel mountain as well, I think they screwed something up here! |
 | reply to SD92128 whhhhattt?
your getting the 10mbps download? =[
the customer service person told me everybody east of bernardo center drive (i think its us) is getting 5/384. BUT HOW ARE YOU GETTING THE REGULAR 10/1?!?!?! daaang. he said they're gonna fix it on monday |
 | Hey, how come they dont show 15/2 on their webpage...is that speed available in our area? Im paying for the premium/turbo package since the last two years and recently had the bump to 10/1, do I need to call them to get 15/2? |
 | reply to SD92128 Yeah, San Diego is supposed to be:
Standard: 10/1 Premium/Turbo: 15/2
But apparently, it's Standard: 7/512. 512 = kilobits Premium/Turbo: 10/1.
Yeah. I really don't know. Your saying RECENTLY you have been bumped to 10/1? Recently, as in when? Because I think the techie told me the upgrade on Wednesday was changing the RR standard speed to 10/1 instead of 7/512 and turbo/premium to 15/2 instead of 10/1 (FINALLY)...the other upgrade was adding HD channels available to the cable tv box in 92128 (since we didnt have an option like that)
But apparently you're getting the full 10/1 your getting. but for me im getting 5/384 but i'm supposed to be getting 10/1?!?! haha. eh. And you don't need to call them I think. Because they said they upgraded the routers in our area. but but but. your not getting the speed? they said techies did something wrong. lol |
