the whole san diego IS 10/1 standard because look:

"Road Runner is 6x the maximum download speed of
the standard DSL package and up to 170x faster than dial-up.¹"

Standard DSL package = 1.5mbps. 1.5 times 6 = 9megabits. so technically 10/1
This is what you're basing your "all of SD is 10/1" theory on? Wow.
ummm. what's up with the rudeness? this is the time warner cable san diego page. and it's not a theory. im giving you facts.

Here is the page - read the fine print - 10/1 standard
»www.timewarnercable.com/sandiego···ult.html
Got 15/2 for Turbo two days ago in 92128, however had to call and force them to re-provision my modem to turbo speeds, for which I'm paying for. Took about 3 hours, five phone calls and numerous transfers.

Ok, found out that I am on Road Runner Basic. This explains my 1MB download speed. Also explains how the "promo" guy can make his prices look so good. The $20 or so discount, was chopped off from Standard speed and rate. Was told everything was standard and I got a few HD channels, and digital phone...lols everything standard except internet.

Tsk tsk on me, if it looks too good to be true...it ain't.

FYI, Road Runner Basic in San Diego is $8.05 (prolly $9.99 with all them other surcharges added up). Basic speed is 1536kbps/384kpbs.

um wtf?

do you guys see the problem im seeing about second2non's post of his speed test?

if you live in 92128 why the heck would your distance to LA be 1200 miles?

...

it should be about ~100 mi
It shows up as ~1200 mi because a day before the speed upgrade here rr did some maintenance early in the morning and it seems like everyone got new ip address's. I went from a 66. address to a 76. address. For some reason speedtest's database still things our address's belong in stillwater Oklahoma.

Are you guys still having this problem? My connections keep dropping after a minute or so, and a line test tool on BBR just told me I have 10% packet loss.

I'm in 92122.

Can't telecommute today, ssh is in the crapper.

That's not true. I'm still getting 7/512 speeds in Serra Mesa.

Called them up today, and if you call them up saying that you want the 10 mb/1 standard they'll upgrade to it for free

All you fair a lot better then me. I just recently moved to the 92128 area and got my cable in for the last 2 weeks. My download speed is only 1400 kbps and upload at 384 kbps. So really I am pulling down 1 Mb, and everything is slow! Can't even go to youtube right now for fear it'll take minutes to watch something.

Two days ago they setup the digital phone and gave me a new modem. That didn't help. Asked the technician what is up with the low download speed, and he pretty much said it might be my router, well I connected the new modem directly to my computer and ran speedtest.net with him and he was like hum, call tech support. Calling tech support tonight.

is anyone having a hard time to get the full 10/1?

im always getting 8800/800.

is it because of an overloaded node?

the technician was looking at the profile for our area code and apparently she was mumbling under her breath "pending maintenance schedules before 2/1" and then i asked her "oh really are we going to have a maintenance?" she says yes and the rr techs will try to fix the problem with the upload speeds and people not getting speeds they're supposed to get!!!

SanDiego92128
