Price IncreaseI noticed Knology increased my monthly bill by $10 with no new services added. Did anyone else get an increase this month? |

Mine that came the 2nd or 3rd was the same price. Don't know what February's will bring. I know it will be different as I dropped them for tv and moved to Directv. I'll only have the "Duo" bundle of phone/internet now. |

They sent out a letter warning there was a price increase, I haven't gotten my bill since I got the letter, though. |

Just got my bill and yes I do see an increase. It now costs me right at $100 for a crappy internet connection and basic cable, oh joy! Knology's days are now numbered in my house... |

I've been a knology customer since Dec 2000. I've had phone and internet the entire time but bounced my tv back and forth between them and Comcast. I already have 2 HDTVs so when Directv added all their HD channels, I decided to jump to them. Knology hasn't added any HD since March '05 (TNT & ESPN2). We have 14 total. Comcast only has 17 here. I've had no issues with phone but internet issues popped up a couple of moths back with speed and then lost packets. I still have some issues with usenet that I never had before the 6Mb upgrade. Still, I guess I can't complain for what seems like unlimited internet (no caps on downloads) and good telephone. TV was a different, stale lineup, matter! |

I recently called Knology and requested the price listed on the website. Now my bill is back at $69 a month for basic cable and internet.
This may or may not work for everyone but you could give it a try. |

I just called and requested the advertised price of $99 for the three services I have and I was told that they would adjust my monthly fee from $115 to $99. I specifically asked if this was an introductory rate and how long the price would be in effect and "Michael" said that it was a promotion but said that there was not an introductory time period associated with the rate. |

I can confirm this has I saw the "2008 PHONE CABLE INTERNET" bundle on the Knology website, and I was paying $115. Now I called and asked why I was paying more, she said "It's a different plan" - I said "Well, what's different about this plan?" - She said, "Um, the name."
Looks like they've changed me to that plan, saves me a good amount of money each month. Woohoo. |

I called and asked to be moved to the rate plan for duo phone/internet service for $69. I am currently paying $68.50 for the service. The website shows $69 for the same PLUS unlimited long distance AND the "Smart Choice" pack for phone with all calling features. I'm paying $12 extra for calling features.
I waited 15 minutes on hold, got a CSR, explained what I wanted, got put on hold for 10 more minutes and was told I would be switched to the website plan.
2 days later, still no extra calling features (no VM, no call forward, no speed list, no NOTHING!). No way of knowing what I have unless I call and "hope" the CSR can tell me correctly WHAT I have and WHY the extra calling features are not working!!!
Believe I was blown off. I guess I will write a letter to Knology complaining about this issue. Seems I can't get much done unless I go to the local office in person, or write a letter to document what happened! Telephoning seems worthless!!!
I'm still pissed that no HD has been added since March '05 (ESPN2 & TNT). Now I can't get switched to an advertised plan!!! I have never received what I wanted/was promised unless I drove to the local office and talked to someone OR sent a written letter in to document my issues. Only then did Knology follow thru!
(I'm so close to dropping my phone to cellular and piggy-backing my internet onto my mother's Bellsouth/AT&T DSL service - she has a "mother-in-law quarters" here in which she has an AT&T landline)
EDIT - spelling! |

I received a callback today and they advised that they did get me switched over to the $69 rate. They said the smart choice features should have been working but they did manually add them and they do in fact work now. They DID say that these special rates are ONLY FOR 6 MONTHS! They further stated that we should not be getting them as we are current customers and they are for new customers only - OR - if you change or upgrade your services to a different level. (black price is 6 month promo rate for upgrades/changes, red price is 6 month rate for new customers). They also stated that if these promo packs include features that you did not have before, then at the end of the 6 months you would be billed for the additional features on top of the current package price. So... some of you may see a much higher bill in 6 months! This promo pack, for me, includes unlimited long distance. They said at the end of 6 months my bill would go up to $83 (from $69) due to the unlimited long distance fee. I told them to leave me at the 5 cent rate then. I basically am getting the smart choice free for 6 months. They did say they would honor it as I was promised but I bet they'll be having a talk at the next CSR training session. |
