aprest join:2003-11-27 Potomac, MD | Has anyone received the free Sharp 19 inch LCD HD TV???? Verizon has been offering a free Sharp Aquos 19-inch LCD HD television set to new FiOS triple-play subscribers in parts of New York, New Jersey, southern Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, and parts of Indiana. I signed up for the triple play offer in November soon after they advertised the free TV here in Maryland. I have called several times and can't get a definitive answer as to when I will receive the free TV. Has anyone on this forum received one yet? |

 | reply to aprest I contact Verizon Live Chat. Nothing like getting an answer right a way. Two to three weeks after all your bundle components are installed and working you will receive a letter in the U.S. Mail. The letter will include a username and password for a website address to redeem the promotion. You must claim your gift award within 45 days of receiving the letter in the mail.
Once you have waited the three weeks after all your bundle components have been installed and working and you experience difficulty accessing the website in the promotion redemption letter, you may contact the Verizon Online Center for Promotional Offers at: (866)-279-0438 Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 AM Central Time. A representative will be happy to assist you.
Please Note: The Sharp LC-19SB24U HDTV LCD Television / HDTV Monitor will take up to ten weeks for delivery after your online registration and redemption at the promotion website. This means arrival to the customer could be up to thirteen weeks from the date your bundle components are installed and working. |

I don't know about the "...happy to assist you..." part, but I do know they are happy to tell you to be patient.
I'm 10 weeks post install, called them four times and they refuse to do anything other than tell me to hang in there and eventually I'll get it.
Assuming I ever do actually get it, at this rate it'll be almost six months since my install. |

Be sure to ask them to confirm that you are in the system to receive the free TV. There is a problem between where you ordered the FiOS TV service and the Promotions Department. My order was never transferred and even though the Promotions Department CSR promised to have his supervisor enter my name it never happened and I had to raise Holy Hell to get it done. |

 | reply to aprest Did you order a HD STB to accommodate this set? I did, and I'll be paying the HD premium, but not receiving value for it, until the HD TV arrives. I, too, am getting the runaround. The Virginia SCC Communications Division says it will handle complaints of non-regulated Verizon offerings, but I wonder if it's worth the effort. |

 | reply to aprest Verizon will keep you hanging untill they extract money from you. The approx time u will have to wait is 8 -12 mths before u actually get u'r tv.
For me, they first lied that they had me in a wrong gift, after 8 weeks they tell me this and they restarted the process again.
you are lucky if you get it. VERIZON IS A COMPANY WITH NO SERVICE COMMITMENT OR ETHICS. I made a mistake in switching over from COMCAST..comcast is the best,,east or west. |

 | reply to aprest I have been waiting a month since install for the letter. I called the 800 number on this site today and they said it was mailed 10 days ago. The customer service rep was very friendly and put the order in while I was on the phone and sent me e-mail confirmation. Now I don't have to worry about the letter! She said to call back in three weeks and they will give me the FedEx tracking number. Great customer service by Verizon!!! |

 | reply to aprest i had fios installed on 12/19/07 and never received a letter. in january and again in early february i had to call and they supposedly put my name in "the system" and was told today that if i don't get a letter by march 18 that i should call back. then i spoke to a supervisor who told me that the promotion was for new customers only (NOT TRUE). i was getting more and more heated...then he gave me a vz number to call for billing questions and told me i wouldn't have to go through a menu of options. no one answered. now i'm back to that other fios billing number. the hold times are off the charts!!! 10-15 mins. i have never seen such a terrible run around in my life. every time is see the commercial for the free tv i get more pissed. if i find out anything else on this call i will post on the forum. |

 | reply to aprest My situation with verizon mirrors many of the posts on this board and others. I was promised two $100.00 AMEX gift cards if I switched from my previous cable provider to verizon fios. I was supposed to receive one when I signed up and one after 90 days. Needless to say I have received neither after 4 months of service. Customer service is useless and will bounce you from department to department, promise call backs and never call etc. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After looking at the BBB's ratings for verizon, I can see why there are many similiar posts about promised rewards that were never received. If anyone wants to file a complaint with the BBB or check out verizon's BBB ratings here is the link. »welcome.bbb.org/ Good luck to all. |

 | reply to aprest I have my service installed in November, 2007. I am still waiting for the letter and for the TV as well. I contacted Verizon Customer Service and was transferred to the promotion department where I was told I did not have to wait for the letter (although they claim they had already sent it), they allegedly processed the inquire and I should received my TV within 4 to 6 weeks. I am still waiting, and waiting, and waiting...let's see what happens. |

 | same here no tv no letter seems like a bate and switch are thay make it so hard you give up |
|
 | reply to aprest SAME HERE NO LETTER NO TV I CALLED TODAY AND NOW SAYS I A NOT IN THE SYSTEM THAT SHE NEEDS TO CONTACT THE SUPERVISOR AND THEN A LETTER WILL BE SENT OUT WITHIN 4 TO 6 WEEKS AND I WAS INSTALLED 10/2007 |

 | reply to aprest Sent a complaint to the BBB on 2/11/08. I was contacted by someone in verizon's customer advocacy office today 2/19/08. They offered me a deal. One gift card now, and another in 13 months (huh?) or 2 months credit on my service. I chose the two months due to the fact that it worked out to be more than the gift cards were worth. Although she didin't tell me this on the phone, I got the impression some of verizon's sales people are making promises they are not authorized to or can't keep just to make a sale. Maybe they work on some kind of commission. File a complaint with the BBB. It worked for me. |
