Re: CS Number Disconnected

Hi,

Not on vacation, just making sure this is being resolved as quickly as possible. The issue (incoming routing with our primary incoming carrier) has been isolated and will be resolved on their end shortly.

Thanks. What about the outgoing problems most of us are having?

Hi,

That was related however it should have been routed around at some point during that. It took a bit of time to trouble shoot we've never seen that type of issue before. Everything should be back online at this point.

And what about the fallover, sure does not do a lick of good to anyone if a single point failure in VT's or a suppliers system can take out not only the whole network, but also the customers only backup.

If you are talking about the network down forward that only works if its just your connection down. If VT is down your screwed. I think they gave up on the DNS SRV record method. Single server fails they just point to another.

Note: Somehow I missed this one. Wife is on the phone and has been for last 10 minutes. Don't know if you all are working yet or not.

I'm not pleased my service went down too. But in 1.5 years of service, an outage caused by an upstream provider like this is the first for me. Not sure what kind of redundancy a company like L3 provides its customers (VT). Hopefully VT has some kind of recourse against L3 that would include providing some added measures so this does not happen again. L3 cannot be held blameless and should not be able to just get away with this.
