| Does Covad Intergrated T1 lines with 8 Trunks sound clear?
We are currently switching from paying $1000 a month to a $479 package for 8 lines and 1.5down 1.5 up. Now this is my question, will these lines be as clear as my current SBC analog phone setup or will the phones skip words or sound tinney?
Can someone please answer this for me before I pull the trigger with purchasing covad's services? |

| In my experience, it will most likely be even better sound quality than most standard analog POTS lines.
Nobody however can actually guarantee that this will be true in your specific case.
BTW. if you are also the anonymous user "CovadUser", asking the same question multiple times is not likely to change the answer(s) that you receive. -- We can never have enough of nature. | If there are no circuit problems, and QOS is setup properly, the voice quality should exceed a typical analog POTS line. I install and setup similar systems for several different telco and OEM providers on almost a daily basis, and I can't recall anyone ever complaining about the voice quality. -- We can never have enough of nature. | reply to BrianSlater This is kinda late, but one of my clients has the Integrated T1 with 4 DIDs and it's not bad, but not great. I'm pretty sure it's the same product you're talking about - where the T1 supplies data and VOIP to the Cisco IAD, which then feeds into your own PBX...right?
It took a few calls to Covad to tweak the voice quality and it's ok, but the sales folks who use the line a lot say it's not uncommon (though apparently not the majority of the time) for there to be noise on the line (pops, clicks, echos) as calls extend beyond 15 minutes, more or less).
After the 3 hour outage last week, they're looking to switch. KM |
