| Cool Feature Suggestions
Some ideas I've had that might or might not be possible to implement:
* Ability to set DVR to record a show remotely from the web. Very useful when you see a show on and you won't be around to set the recording automatically. This might be a bit more difficult considering you use i-Guide almost unchanged as far as I can see.
* Updated firmware and software for DCT3416 (Software: 75.58-rel-9078 and firmware 16.43). The new software has some nice new features, including smarter DVR functionality
* HD Video On Demand. I know this requires alot of bandwidth, but its a nice feature to have, especially if you can get some content for free.
* SDV might help with any bandwidth problems (Switched Digital Video). Not sure if the Motorola's can handle it. |

- We just updated the firmware, got any info about this new one?
- Working on that.

* New or updated features:
o The menu ovals are vertically shorter
o The scroll arrows on the top or bottom of a list now have the text 'More Choices' around it.
o Parental Control: Separate Movie and TV ratings locks, lock by content (Language, Violence, etc...), hide titles of both TV-MA and Adult content.
o Search can use an on-screen keyboard (still limited to 5 characters), save searches.
o If you type in a non-existent channel number, it will tune to the next available channel.
o Pressing GUIDE while the program guide is displayed will toggle between the grid and single-channel list modes.
o VOD Preview default action is to stop, not Buy.
o DVR: When scheduling a live event, you will be asked how much time to add (must be enabled in Guide setup).
o DVR: If there is a 5 minute or less program overlap, the DVR will clip the beginning of the second recording. The text (Clipped) will appear in the scheduled recording list, next to the recording dot. (must be enabled in Guide setup).
o DVR: The Swap Tuner prompt will only show if both tuners are recording. The swap will be automatic otherwise.
o DVR: When you reach the end of a recording, it will only pause. The delete popup will show after 10-15 seconds, or immediately if you hit STOP.

Port Perry, ON | Oh, this is Guide software, not box firmware. This might be the A25 version of the Guide which still might be in beta? Anyways, I'll look into it and see if it's available to us yet. |
