Re: port from AT&T to Vitelity after dryline switch?

I am in the process of doing just this (and switching to the same provider).
When I ordered the dry DSL, I had to twist their arm to get them to not disconnect my pots line. So make sure they don't disconnect your POTS line, as it has to be active in order to port the number.

You need to order dry DSL.
You need to have your dry DSL active, and working first before you shut off your old DSL which is tied to your land line.
You then need to issue your port request on vitelity.
Once the number is ported, make sure your ATT account is canceled.

wait--so you basically had to twist them arm to not disconnect POTS? giving you free POTS for a few days? or is it a wire thing on the back end?

how many days for each step (for you so far)?
