| poor QoS on uploads? What's the cause?UPDATE-COVAD INNOCENT
This was a post I made about uneven upload bandwidth on my new Covad-partner ADSL line.
UPDATE- Further testing has revealed that the problem probably lies NOT with the Covad line. Testing 2 machines, directly on each PPPoE connection, one server one client over FTP, revealed that the Covad line is performing fine. SORRY. Can I delete the post?

| Not so innocent
FURTHER FURTHER testing has revealed that using a different device as server I had better results, but still the Covad line does not provide as steady a stream on the upload as my ATT line does. There is speed variation and TCP pauses on the Covad line keeping it from having its average transfer rate quite near its peak transfer rate. The ATT line, while slower, just happily sits sending data out right near its peak rate.

ps- the covad line also uploads with uncorrectable errors, but that's for another topic. |
