Re: [Notebooks] Rant about laptops my first computer, a Dell Inspiron 7000, that I got October 21st, 1998, is still running 24/7 to this day. I am currently using it as a basic media server with external hard disk.
Only things I had ever have fail is the cd rom, replaced under warranty.
After 5 1/2 years of the screen being on 24/7, it burned out. I removed it, and just use the tv as the monitor.
orignal hard disk. like i said, only non orignal part is the cd rom. even the orignlal battery still holds a 2 hr charte, and i discharged that battery nearly every day for the first 3 years i had it. Worst computer is Pro-Star. Next worst i have owned is a Vaio. All my dells are holding up great! despite massivve abuse.
