said by koam:I'm running out of space on my drive. I used diskdata to see what's using space. Thunderbird was using 1.1 GB.
So I went into Tbird and deleted lots of mail in several inboxes. Then I deleted the emails from trash. No change. I restarted Tbird - no change. Rebooted.
The amount of disk space used by Tbird went up to 1.4 GB and there is less free space on the HD.
When I go into diskdata to see the files and folders that tbird has taking up space, the inboxes and trash folders are still there and large on the disk, even though in the tbird application the inboxes and trash folders appear to be empty.
This despite deleting maybe 15,000 emails.
What can I do to get tbird to give me my HD back?
After 4 months of struggling to get Thunderbird to work with Vista, with it's Stalling & Freezing (Not Responding error message)I gave up on it, and installed the Seamonkey Mail & News program, now, I don't use the Seamonkey Browser,(still use FF) but, the Seamonkey Mail & News works a lot better than TB ever did, when you keep drowning and struggling with something and you cannot keep your head above water, it's time to let go, and I'm happy I did too! maybe someday TB will work with Vista, but, I got sick of waiting for that "Someday" that never seems to come
