to the first hop, it's around 80-90 ms...assuming there's EVDO Revision A in the area, and that the device is Rev. A capable

If those conditions were met, it'd be theoretically possible....only problem is that there isn't any software out there yet that makes this easy to do.

now, if there's a WiMAX phone with Skype...it could definitely work; the bandwidth and latency would be there.....it would simply be an issue of coverage (I can see WiMAX VoIP competing head-to-head with traditional cellular in the years to come).

I use skype with a sprint CDMA rev. A card in a linksys wrt54g3g router. The skype client is on my laptop. The video is pixilated a little, but voice works no problem. And its not like I have a great 3g connection.
