Does anyone actually trust Consumer Reports anymore?

They used to be great, but lately I've found they know absolutely nothing about any of the things I DO know about, which makes me think they know nothing at all. And when I say they know nothing, I mean they are either flat out wrong in their testing/conclusions, or they are testing things that don't matter, and rating products based on those tests.

Hmmm. Care to provide examples?

I quit trusting them waaaay back in the 80's when I started noticing that they were including non-existent car models in the American manufacturers offerings. When I first noticed them I just assumed typos but after contacting them to notify them that there is no such car as a four door Ford Mustang for example and that other models had been years out of production, the models continued to show up and were always amongst the poorest performers.

They're continued love affair with cars like Volkswagens which consistently showed up at the bottom of everyone elses customer satisfation and warranty repair surveys convinced me they had another agenda.
