"Comcast also fared poorly"

Comcast has been promising improved customer service for at least 4 years - remember the "Think Customer First"* initiative?

Perhaps Comcast should consider the implementation phase of this promise. The issuing press releases phase seems to be at the end of its useful life.

I think Comcast is wasting its time trying to improve its customer service. Their problem now is that when they were the only game in town they treated so many people so badly and generated so much ill will that they can't undue it at this point. I hear my own sentiments constantly echoed by others who say that now that I have FIOS and other options available there is NOTHING absolutely nothing Comcast could do to ever get me back as a customer.

To the Comcast customer service wench who once said "so what are you going to do about it?" when I called to complain about rate increases and favorite channels being shifted to higher priced tiers and constant outages on my "high speed" Internet...

What I did honey is wait patiently for an alternative to become available and when it did I immediately kicked your sorry company to the curb and now I make a point of going out of my way to extol the virtues of those alternatives to everyone I can, actively recruit customers for your competition just for the pleasure of harming your company and pray to see then go out of business someday.
