| $10 price increase for my Triple Play
So what happens after 1 year of having the triple play with FIOS? A price increase of $10/mo.
Received a letter yesterday from Verizon. It outlines what they currently offer and mentions nothing of changes that are planned. The relevant paragraph:
We want to remind you that your 12-month bundle term will end in February 2008. For your convenience, you can keep your Verizon FIOS Triple Freedom for another 12-month term; however, your discount amount will decrease by $10. There is no action required on your part to continue to enjoy monthly savings with the same great services you have today. I guess a $10 decrease in my discount is better then a $10 price increase. Based on the base $99 triple play, it's a 10% price increase. -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

| reply to GeekNJ That matches a commercial I saw last night. They've been advertizing for the triple play, with free tv offer, alot. And the price that they showed on the commercial caught me - $109/month.
Unfortunately with all the sweeping changes happening industry-wide, you're going to continue to see significant price increases for the next few years. Not just with Verizon, but across the board. |

| reply to GeekNJ My triple play discount also expired this month. I called customer service last week and asked if I could extend my agreement for another two years. I locked in at $90 a month for the Triple Play. I did tell them that I had received a letter in the mail from Cablevision offering me their version of the Triple Play for $90, which was true.
You should give them and a call and just ask. |

| reply to magilladke I just ordered the triple service yesterday, and they told me it was $95/month. I will forego the free TV and get an additional $10 off/month for two years, PLUS 2- $100 gift certificates to BestBuy.
I was trying to look around and see if it was a good deal, but apparently deals are across the board and it wasn't too bad of a deal.
PS I'm not sure if I got the "first month free" of internet access or not, that came with the original deal. Forgot to ask about that. It was never mentioned, so probably not. Hmmm. My install is in two weeks. |

GeekNJ's triple play is a year old. It sounds like yours is brand new.
Thinking I'm ok with a new 2-year triple-play order for $95. Somehow, I don't think prices will come down soon. |

| reply to GeekNJ In Maryland here, I have seen the triple play being advertised for $99 a month and $109 a month.
I think another poster here told me that the $99 triple play does not include the Free TV and the internet speed is only 5/2
The $109 triple play includes the free TV as well as 15/2 internet speed.
Now, I guess that does make sense even though in the NY metro area, you get the triple play for $95 with 20/5 internet speed. |

| reply to GeekNJ I wanted to sign up for FIOS just like my neighbor. $99 a month with 3 analog boxes included plus a $200 gift card instead of a camera. Engineering at Verizon omitted my address and by the time it was corrected and I was able to place an order, the best deal they could give me was an additional $15 a month for the boxes and a "probably not" on the gift card in place of the digital camera. To me that's a boost of $560 for the 2-year period. I hate Comcast but I'll just keep throwing money their way. Now I have to decide what to do with my expiring Verizon wireless contracts. |

He probably just bargained down with them. If I were you, underappreciated, I'd call back and speak with someone else (of course) and they might give you a better deal. I do see that each salesperson is different. Next guy might give you a deal. Good luck. |
