Wasn't Alltel recently sold? And as far as the overlap is concerned - that would be 50 million additional subscribers who would be able to take advantage of the Verizon network, allow them to shut down duplicate towers and become the largest carrier overnight. |

I don't think Verizon would want to touch the mess that is Sprint. I don't have Verizon Wireless as my personal cell provider but it seems they are doing pretty well without Sprint as it stands now. If they were to acquire Sprint, it would be a huge financial risk for a company that is doing very well. There would be all sorts of problems, and if Verizon is smart, they would want to avoid such hassles. -- Only SHATNER is Kirk. |

Hey I'm a former employee - they could just re-activate me and bridge my years of service, I'll buy Sprint - shut the towers down, overload the network and collect my 6 million in executive perks.....lol Works for me  |
