Re: Slowing down

As much as I despise Verizon (Wireless and landline from past issues), I don't think Verizon would buy Sprint. A Sprint + Alltel deal would be more likely.

Sprint is a $40B+ Fortune 100 profitable (barely) company. They could lose millions more customers and still be an F100 company.

The issue is iDen losses, not CDMA. Once they convert iDen customers to CDMA and improve customer support (it's getting better), they'll be back on track. When they merged, they said it would take several years for the dust to settle. Well it's only been two. Give it a couple more years.

If WiMAX takes off, they'll be in good shape.

This is no different than US car companies going through ups/downs. They're just too big to go away.

what you fail to mention is that the iDEN bubbas didn't just switch over to the CDMA side of sprint. They left. That has to be the case because you can't move people around on your network and lose money. People have to leave.

Also, Sprint lost a lot of the original Sprint faithfuls (like me) who viewed them as an advanced company pairing up with a bunch of hick chirp users. These days, Verizon and ATT understand the tech just as well as the old Sprint used to so yo udont have to stick with them to be cool or hip.

And the MVNOs are killing sprint. They need to stop those the sooner the better.
