Same here.... They'll probably be ok.

It's my bet that AT&T's battery management circuits were somewhat screwed up. Lithium Bat's really don't like overcharging.

I don't about you, but third degree heat burns and chemical burns to match are enough of a deterrent. This coming from someone who has survived a house fire with only a serious dose of smoke inhalation.
