Free phone # in London, Milan, & Rome www.messagenet.it

www.messagenet.it

The above website gives you a free phone # in London, Milan, Rome and Turin where you can recive calls for free and call toll-free #'s in those countries for free. The option to buy prepaid credits for regular calls is also available. They give you all the sip info to provision a softphone or ATA.

Im waiting on an unlocked PAP2-NA i bought on ebay, it might take a few weeks cause its coming from Hong Kong. I have my Rome # set up on X-lite and it works fine, but i want to see if someone can get an ATA working successfully and talk about it here.

I registered for a Roma # and configured it on my Asterisk. The account took a couple of trials to register. Once registered, when I called my number, it went straight to voicemail. :D Here is the messages spit out by my Asterisk:
BTW, it doesn't matter if I used the default 5061 port assigned by Messagenet or a default 5060 port. They both seem to work.

In registering for a UK number there is a "F.C." field. It is asking for a VT code/tAX code, the field is mandatory. No idea what to put in here

I dont know, i got mine a few months ago, they must have just run out though if meister_sd got a london # today. Who knows, i stumbled into this site by using google.it (italian google) and searching for free voip. i dont know much about it other than i have a rome and london # for free, both working on softphones. Just tryin to open a can of worms is all... Im hoping to see some provisioning walkthroughs with screen shots of provisioning pages of various ATA's
Looks like you can get #'s in London, Milan, Rome and Turin, no Paris sorry about the misinfo

Is there a way to do sip URI forward from messagenet number to FWD?

I didnt see anything on the website about call fwding, but to my understanding it would only be able to fwd to a toll free # in the country your number is from if at all unless you pay for credits. I think essentially you would just be picking up the tab on the long distance charges if you were to fwd an italy # to a usa #

I configured my PAP2 with Messagenet London number. It registers right away. I called the number and it rang and I had a 2-way voice.

Wish I could do sip URI forward to FWD since all my other free DID's are forwarded to FWD.

EDIT: I forwarded one of my DID's to Messagenet sip URI and it didn't work.

can you show some screen shots of the provisioning page for the pap2? I ordered one off ebay and would like to be spared the trials and errors.

I changed Country to USA, then entered 0,0 (used comma, don't know if period will also work) for tax rate and then proceeded to get a Milan number.

Placed it on my Asterisk box, call forwarded to my cell phone, tested it and I'm now ready to receive wrong numbers in Italian in the middle of my night.

Along with MessageNet there is a number of providers out there with free Incoming DID numbers....see »www.redflagdeals.com/forums/show···t=454642

BTW have been using Messagenet, Eutelia and OrbTalk.co.uk with VoXalot and MySipSwitch and having them all ring on the same ATA
