| FIOS deals They are all big crazy companies...and for us real people (raising a family, juggling bills, etc...), I got to tell you -- it can be a full time job ferreting out which service to go with - and I know that most web sites, etc... do not do a good a job in making the complex (relatively) straightforward - so even if imperfect, I will consider what they consider top rated.
In addition, I also consider other (mainly financial) factors that aren't always captured in the Consumer Reports criteria.
I am in a fortunate situation outside of Boston where Comcast, RCN, and Verizon are all in hand to hand combat.
The result? Good deals that are never published but must be pressed to be obtained. I just got off the phone with a person at Verizon who just won me over (internet, HDTV, and phone) in a deal I did not think possible.
My current carrier, RCN, did get me a good deal through their "customer care" department, but when I called Verizon, they took things to a whole new level...as they say, shop around. |
