Embarq was historically a rural telephone company, some of the areas they server are no longer rural (Las Vegas being the prime example), but the majority of the area is still in rural markets. So, the price may be a bit above average for 10 Meg, but when you start seeing companies offer these speeds in Gun Barrel Station* Texas it has got to be a good thing.
*I don't know whether or not the 10 Meg was released in Gun Barrel Station - I used it as an example of a rural town Embarq serves -- DSLr Mafia Member. |
