The state PUC would have to change the law to regulate FIOS, and if it did, the FCC would strike it down instantly, the FCC promised that next gen broadband/telco tv infrastructure will not be regulated by the FCC (and therefore any state or local govt), otherwise Verizon and ATT would have never built any of it, it it had to resell it to CLECs. | |

said by patcat88:Well at the rate this negotiation is going, prepare to wait 5 years for FIOS. As you stated above, the government isn't stopping Verizon from deploying fiber wherever they like - under their existing agreement. | |
