Good poll Owlbet! Thanks.
After trying many firewalls, I am now using OnLine armor and am very pleased with it.

I'm still using Sygate Pro behind a router. By the way, any thing wrong with using unsupported firewall software like Sygate?
Not to my way of thinking. I also use it.

XP still has the same ports it's always had. What's to 'support'?

. . I just wished that Sygate is still around . . . .
It is still around-- as verified by several voters in this poll.

I use a router (Linksy BEFSR41) and the XP firewall which I keep enabled so it is working if I have to go on dialup backup. This is on my main machine. On my virtual machines I have Avira beta 8 firewall. How come Avira wasn't in the poll?

It is under Other (please specify)

I wasn't aware they had one till you mentioned it but as everybody is making FW these days it doesn't come as a surprise

Touché.

Avira has had a firewall in the Suite for quite some time but it has been not very good. It's being improved considerably currently but it is not going to be great, as far as I can see, even in version 8 which due out in April. But it is a decent, rules based Firewall.

edited for clarity...I need to get some sleep.

Why is "Software with Router" an option? Wouldn't that represent most here?

The question is *which* software?
