For full diversity, seperate duct-structures (although still allowed on the same road, as long as they are on different sides) is the minimum seperation allowed.

We will also lease facilities off other providers to provide diversity, if we can't build it ourselves...

Laz

rkruz : Is there an industry standard for the physical separation of redundant fiber cables.....say in SONET ring with redundant primary and protect fiber paths? If the ring tends to collapse and both sides of ring approach each other, are there industry standards or other guidelines for what the minimum seperation should be to reduce risk of a cut to both fiber bundles...say with a backhoe.

Any insights appreciated.
thanks
