 Wireless network says 'Not connected'

My laptop is connecting to a sky broadband router, it says it is 'not connected' but it actually is connected... because i have the option to disconnect from it?
(i'm currently typing on this website, i know im connected to the internet)
but eventually it searches for other wireless networks and disconnects...

im confused.

Fort Collins, CO		 set your wireless nic's preferred connections to your sky service, and set to connect to preferred networks only. Remove any other networks from the preferred connections.
