The Actiontec router is REQUIRED for the TV service to work properly. The TV service will NOT work without it. You can however, hookup another router between your computers and the Actiontec. You can download the latest firmware for the Actiontec router from »www2.verizon.net/micro/actiontec···ntec.asp.

Out of curiosity, what problems are you having with this router? All the problems I was having disappeared on installation of the latest firmware.
