I assume you mean 3Com router, not Belkin.

The router internals are not compatible with the Access Point internals that you are comparing. The simple answer to your question is no. You can not load firmware intended for the 454G72 into a 554G72.

I've just bought a new Belkin router but was wondering if there is anyway to flash my old 3CRWE554G72 router with the firmware from 3CRWE454G72 so I can use it as a repeater.
