Faster RR speeds!

I am in the palm springs area and am using RR ultra. Today I noticed that my internet speeds have gone from 10mbs down/1mbs up to 15mbs down/2mbs up. I havent seen any news about time warner raising their internet speeds. Has Anyone else noticed this in the southern california area?

So, the faster your speed increased, the faster you're going to reach your cap (perhaps 40GB = 5 days worth of streaming movies) . What are you happy about ?

Is Verizon FiOS in your area, or soon to be?

I don't care, it doesn't affect me, I'm on their 15/768 package here in upstate NY. I'm in the Liberty division to be exact. Chances are that the OP is in a FiOS area, so don't get too excited people.

I reset my modem but no change here in Huntington Beach. I'm on Roadrunner Standard (7-mb down), and Fios is available in my area.

Huntington Beach was one of the first areas to get 15/2. You need to be on the Extreme tier to get it.

Yet I live 1.524 miles from the eastern border of Huntington Beach and I can't get Fios. !@#$ YOU ATT!!!

FiOS = Verizon, not AT&T.

I believe he's saying he's 1.524 miles away from having Verizon has his phone company, thus his displeasure with his current company, AT&T.

Right, because since I'm from California I would know that.

Must be nice to have decent upload. I wish TW would man up and give us the 2mbit Adelphia had slated for us, but their money is shoved so far up their collective ass it will never happen.

Buffalo has it as an ex Adelphia area.

No. I don't. But I use 20GB a month and RR thinks it should be capped at 5? That's nuts. I am in no way an excessive user. 5 is ludicrous.

I'm in the San Antonio Texas area and with so much I read about in here I wonder if anyone is in the same area I'm in that knows if there will be a change down here? RR uses different words in different areas but in the end its most likely the same tier. I have rr turbo this is were they get anyone UP TO 10 M BITS DOWNLOAD and UP TO 1 M BIT UPLOAD. That up to is were they cover there butts. I'm going to just reboot the modem and see what happens.
Another thing could swapping out modems help the speed? I have a telephony brand modem for I think the past 4 years do they have a better one that they provide for phone/internet customers?

Only if the modem you already have doesn't have the support for the speeds you wish to be getting through your modem. Every modem has it's maximum download and upload speed it can handle. So if yours can't handle it then you might need to swap out the modem. My suggestion, call your local cable company and ask them to find out what the limits are on your modem.

I'm hoping that AT&T's new 10/1.5 U-verse speeds might push TW to just standardize on 15/2.
