Re: What do you expect? Frankly, I knew that once DTV launched their two satellites (which can't be cheap) that they would eventually raise their rates to help pay for it. Paying $5 more for such a nice additional selection of HD programming can't be bad.
I've just read where Comcast is raising their rates 5% in many areas across the country, so you're right, this is something that's going to happen across the Cable/Satellite area. It's the price of doing business with them.
I think that it's great that Dish Network has said that they will freeze their prices for a little while, but they'll be launching their two new satellites too, so you know they'll have to pay for that some how later too.
Personally, I like that the dish folks are constantly keeping up with their technology (as the cable guys have been doing with their fiber optics). If they weren't moving forward, then I'd be the first one to gripe about the constant price hikes, but it's hard to do it when you are getting a little something more each time. |
