NY City politicians will slow down FIOS mor than economy

VZ so far has not indicated any revenue hits because of the so-called 'slow down". No installation slowdown has been hinted at either. It is the politicians as usual that is holding things up. The Pols are the usual 'command and control" types who want their hands on it (and hands out for it).

NY City is not the Whitehouse, it's much more provincial.

I'm picturing the mayor and his hot intern on one side of the table, V reps on the other side holding superbowl tickets and sneaking strippers into the room.

On the table are stacks of cash that the mayor keeps jumping into and throwing wads into the air in glee.
He lets each of the district representatives come in, one at a time, so they can jump in the cash too.

This part isn't, in CA the Brown Act is supposed to protect us from these kind of things, but our city's have also subverted the public interest ;»en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_Act#···nactment

"In enacting this chapter, the Legislature finds and declares that the public commissions, boards and councils and the other public agencies in this State exist to aid in the conduct of the people's business. It is the intent of the law that their actions be taken openly and that their deliberations be conducted openly.
"The people of this State do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies which serve them. The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. The people insist on remaining informed so that they may retain control over the instruments they have created."
--
‘Do ye, quieting in your bosoms your strong hearts,
Who of many good things have had your fill even to surfeit,
With what is moderate nourish your mighty desire; for neither will
We yield, nor shall you have all else as you wish.’

That's because the results for this quarter, the quarter in which the economy started to slide, are not out yet. Your statement is based on insufficient information.

Not nearly cynical enough. You forgot the free blow, booze, hand jobs, lap dances and rolling around in the money naked and lubed. A veritable orgy of sex, drugs, booze and cash. The next day these very same KY cowboys politicians will put on a suit and tie all respectable-like and talk about "family values."

As I said, there is no indication of a slowdown. The assumption that there must be has no basis. If there is a general slowdown, which is not the case, not all companies or sectors of the economy are affected equally.

There is a fine line between vulgarity and cynicism, I try to stay above the line most time.
Your post has clearly dropped way below that line, thus detracting from the message.

100% your opinion not necessarily accurate.

Of course
By having secret meetings, any kind of wild rumors can circulate about what happened there. I'm sure there are a lot worse things being said about them.
