| Request for Music Forum... Yes, I did a search before posting. There was a "Music ID" request, but that didn't warrant a new forum just for it. I think it was proposed at one point in time but got rejected. The search didn't pull up anything though.
I'm proposing a new forum for Music: anything and everything related to it. From instruments to bands to specific songs, there's a lot that can be discussed.
Many times in the Cooler there are threads with youtube videos of music but they get buried under the many topics that start every day. Having a dedicated music forum would allow people to show what they like, and actually show off their own work. I'm pretty sure we have some music aficionados and amateur musicians who would love to show their stuff.

I think it's a splendid idea. I think it would be more useful as a forum for people who play instruments to ask questions and some general music chat also...

Music forum, great idea!
We have sports, digital imaging, why not music?
There are tons of music related sites that use broadband to stream tunes. So you can't say this is not broadband related. |

If I post something, I don't want to see "that music SUX, lolz!!".

Not a bad idea. Could be a good place to talk about concert revues,new music-best places to find old music.

It would have to be the moderator to make sure that kind of stuff doesn't happen. One of the goals of this is forum is to expose people to different types of music, old or new.
An idea would be to have 2 moderators, one on the east coast and one on the west coast to keep an eye out on this forum. There are also the "super mods" who could check in once in a while.
The kind of comments like "that music SUX, lol" would have to be moderated/deleted, not appropriate for this type of forum.
I hope that clears up that point for ya!
Edit: Another idea, if possible, is to ban people from the Music forum only who repeatedly post stuff that doesn't contribute to the forum. I don't know if it's possible, if Justin or another mod could chime in on this that would be great.
By the way, I listen to music from Bob Dylan up, and I'm 16. I don't know if you'll have that kind of problem with those comments often here
