But there will be people who don't like some music, and will post that. If you moderate that stuff, it won't be much of a forum. |

"That music sux, lolz!!" is neither. You don't need those types of comments to make "much of a forum", on the contrary actually. -- 10,426 DEADLY TERROR ATTACKS SINCE 9/11~~TEAM DISCOVERY Can't feel you anymore, don't need you anymore, don't believe you anymore, I don't need you anymore

| If I were to comment "I heard the latest album by whoever, and I thought it sucked" would it be so different than saying "that album sux big time!!" It's kind of a fine line. One person's musical masterpiece is another's POS album of the year. -- But it's lacking something big this time. What the hell did you expect to find? Aphrodite, on a barstool by your side? | reply to sansri88 Just wondering - not as a mod but as a member. This request comes up time and time again. I am pretty neutral on the subject right now but I pose a question:
What would be the actual "flow" or thread type of such a forum that it would need it's own forum.
What topics need to be discussed in a specific music forum that cannot be posted in the public chat forums?
I for see the threads as being opinion threads of various artists or types of music.
How is that different than say "Timex watches are the best", then "yes I agree" then "Timex watches suck!". This is a discussion? No different than what we already have but geared and specific only toward music.
Take the sports forum out of the mix for the time being.
Will the threads be any different than what is already posted in the chat forums? |

Technical aspect aside of some instruments people could share, popular concerts, shows, albums and collections could be discussed among music enthusiasts.
I believe a forum needs only to have a technical aspect, if even not the pièce de résistance of the forum, to be elligible.
I'm certain it would be as popular as the Automative or Wheater forum ... |

| reply to sansri88 said by sansri88 :Reasoning? I'd like to find out why people would object to this and not the Sports Forum (to be clear, I supported the Sports forum as well). While I wouldn't mind a Music forum, I think it would turn into another 'cooler' in short order. And if you're using the Sports forum as an example, I thought that might be a good idea as well - right up until it was actually established. Now I avoid it like The Plague. But that's just my opinion, fwiw.
besides, most of you have lousy taste in music from what little I've seen. (ducks and covers)

| reply to Annmarie There's lots of things about music that can be discussed besides what is or isn't the "best" (which is part of the problem in social forums, that's ALL that is "discussed" usually). I think the idea is to have more than just a music opinion forum.
Let's see, there's:
Vocalists/styles/voices
Instruments/help/technical
Genres/Classical/Pop/rock/county/etc. and all their differences
Music theory
Recommendations
etc......
