How long till first bill is received?

Any idea how long from your live date it takes to get your first bill? I went live on the 9th of January and I am concerned my rate will not match with what I was promised on my confirm screen when ordering. Also I have 30 days from the date of the install to cancel penalty free, correct? Thanks

Took 5 months to get my first bill.

VZ will honor the rate, but you will have to deal with the billing department (nightmare) if it does not agree.

Yes. You have 30 days to cancel.

My first bill came in today missing the upgrade from local tv only to premier package. I'm paying less and getting more.

When you got your first bill 5 months later, did they catch up right away? or are they still 5 months behind? or did you have to help them fix it?

I intend to pay for what I receive. Should I try to straighten it out now, or will they get it right eventually on their own?

I'm wondering how I have 30 days to cancel, but my bill will come AFTER the 30 days? For me, a lot is riding on what my bill says, so I won't know if I want to cancel until after I get it.

I wish it were "30 days" after you get your bill. lol That would hurry their asses up.

Birdfeedr, I would think you'd have a tough time getting the "problem" fixed. Seems like Verizon Billing isn't the well oiled machine people want it to be. Maybe that's a good thing for you.

In a post elsewhere I referred to a class of people who work overtime to get what they can out of the sytem, even if other people have to shoulder the burden. I am not like that.

But I do believe there a people (and corporate cultures) who make solving problems so difficult because if it was easy then who'd need them?

Even if the cancellation period was 30 days after the first bill, that wouldn't hurry anyone up, at least that's what I think. It would make some *bosses* want to hurry up, but you know as well as I, that digging in the heels and going slow is an art form for some people lower down the ladder.

I'm treating this adventure as helping someone stay employed. I know what I'm supposed to pay, because that's what I agreed to. And if I have to work so that a Verizon executive troubleshooting department justifies their existence in the corporate ladder, I'll make the call.

Actually, all kidding aside, I've created my spreadsheet to track all the billing so I can have the same data in front of me as CSR is supposed to have in front of them when we talk about billing issues. I'm not looking forward to that chat, but I'll be prepared.

I think I'll wait for the next bill. Maybe they'll get it right, all on their own. Now there's a thought!

My install happens to be at the end of the month. 29th. I wonder how that bill would be? Probably for one or two days left in January, then the full month of February in advance? That won't be too bad if it works like that. I would only be paying for 2 days "extra" on my first bill.

Anyone know how that works?

My bill has two periods of service. Phone is on a cycle running from the 17th to the 16th of the next month.

Internet and TV cycles run from the 10th to the 9th. That cycle started on the first day of billable service a little over a year ago.

No wonder it's so complicated for them.

If you have internet only or want to view only our internet bill, you can login at verizon.net and view your bill there.

If you have additional services (e.g. phone and internet and/or tv) you can go to verizon.com, create/validate your verizon account and you can view your bill(s) for all your services.

At least, this is how it has worked for me -- I've been able to view our first bill within about two weeks of getting new service (tv and moved from dsl to fios).

So far, no surprises for me on my current bill.
